1.1 - graphics board

The main components of a graphics board are as follows:

    • 1: DVI Port
    • 2: S-VIDEO Port
    • 3: VGA  Port
    • 4: RAMDAC
    • 5: Connector (here AGP)
    • 6: Chipsets memory
    • 7: GPU

1.2 - GPU

What does the acronym GPU means? “Graphics Processing Unit”. It is the main component of the graphics board, and a most complex one. A processor can easily be compared to a GPU, as the complexity of a GPU very quickly kept up with that of a processor. In its field, the GPU is more powerful than the processor, especially in terms of display and 3D depiction. Their different incidence can be explained by the multifonctionnality of the CPU
