Security Management of Windows XP Professional

Summary

Windows XP Professional has combined all characteristics of Windows 2000 Professional, Windows 98, Windows Me. The major advantage of using Windows XP Professional is its stability , executablility and security. The XP is easy to use, it supports remote user, supports networking and communication. It also has management, disposes ability and has ¡°help¡± functions. What I recommended mainly here is the security management of Windows XP Professional. Windows XP Professional has offered a large amount of security options to select, these options enable users to follow the demand of the environment, set the security settings that user needs. For example users can choose to enable resources only to be accessed by designated several computers ,or users can set up different access limitations to limit different users¡¯ access, for instance subordinate, higher authorities, families ,etc.. The policies are used for Administrators to manage users¡¯ accounts. The Account Policies is used to control login-environment, for example the password and restriction of logon to the computer, the operation that can be carried on after user's log-in in Local Policies, including the Audit, User Right and Security Options. Using Local Policies you can select the computer configurations and user configuration options which are suitable to each computer. Group policies often be used along with activity catalogue, and be applied as Group Policy Objects (GPO , target , policies of group , ). To computers which are not in the network, or the computers in the networks without domain controller Local Group Policies is very useful.
