3.Other biometrics

Other techniques are studied currently, as the gait of the individual, his DNA, his handwritten signature. In order to surmount the problem of only one biometric characteristic use for the user's authentication cannot guarantee any good performances in certain cases, for example the authentication of face in the case of true twins the variation of the signal acquired or the presence of noise. In order to surmount this problem, biometric methods, called multimodal, have been introduced to get better performances. It is about combining several biometrics in the process of the authentication to assure a more elevated security level. An example of these methods is the one that uses the face, the voice and the movement of lips together.

3.1. Dynamic signature

The dynamic verification of the signature is based on the distinction between parts of a signature that are usual and those that change with nearly each signature, so that the authentication is more just and precise. Systems of signature authentication usually include a pencil reader and a shelf to digitize. Verification is accomplished while analyzing a certain number of variables, of which the speed with which the signature is achieved, accelerations, the experienced pressure,...

3.2. Identification by DNA

It is one of the most powerful biometric techniques and of course most reliable among them. But to reach the exceptional security level that it guarantees it will be necessary to submit to the extremely delicate processes. It is indeed indispensable to appropriate cells on the organism of an individual to identify him. Therefore identification by DNA must be used not in some very exclusive applications but in others.

3.3. The biometric and the flea card

The association of the biometric and the flea card permits to be sure that one is well the possessor allowed of this card and information that it contains especially as flea cards are products more and more reliable for secure of information. In a first time, one uses the memory of the card to flea to record his print (it doesn't say a data base one limit by the size memory of the flea). In the future sensors of prints and a part of the comparison software will be also on the card.
