Summary
The principle of the RAID technology consists in combining(organizing) several discs in a network allowing to obtain performances superior to those of a single tall and expensive reader.
The computer sees this readers' network as an unity of logical stocking or an unique(only) reader.
Information is distributed on several discs, by means of techniques such as aggregate by bands(strips), the parity and the stake in mirror to obtain a redundancy, a lesser latency or a more important busy strip in reading and writing on discs.
Of more RAID technology allows to maximize the faculty(power) of recovery after breakdowns of hard disk.
There are various configurations of RAID; it is not necessary to confuse(merge) material RAID and software RAID; we we appercevrons that RAID establishes a record of capacity in a rock-bottom price, and finally we shall attempt to present the quite new " Matrix raid ".
